Peanut Butter & Chocolate Bread Pudding
Sometimes I get annoyingly ambitious in the kitchen. If I overhear someone say that he or she doesn’t like this or that food, I think (and thank goodness I don’t always say it): you just haven’t had it prepared the right way. Parsnip & Pear Latkes
There’s something about the combination of parsnip and pear that I just can’t get enough of. Last year I made a soup with roasted parsnips and pears and sang its praises so much that my sister has made it part of her cooking repertoire. Smoky-Sweet Seitan Stew
There’s a bit of the unexpected in every spoonful of this stew. The orange and white chunks aren’t the traditional carrots and potatoes but, rather, sweet potato and celery root. Then there’s the bite of chipotle counterbalanced by the sweetness of paprika and dried basil, and, at last, the startling pairing of fresh basil with cilantro to finish the dish.
